Having spent the morning climbing a few routes in Foridada, we set off up the Ventamillo gorge in search of a swimming spot.
We managed to get pretty high in the mountains and rolled over a bridge to yet another perfect hammock pitch. Maybe the Pyrenees aren’t so bad after all.
The following day we were woken by the sound of chiming cow bells. After a refreshing swim the gorge took us to the ski town of Benasque, where we continued on our hunt for rock climbing and bread.
Glad to see weather has improved, pyrenees have grown on you but not in height. I always considered cow bells melodious and coped with the sound of Irish cows liking my German tent..

I agree with Christine about the cowbells – what better sound to be woken by?
